Legal Accounting Opportunity!
Qualified Financial Controller / Hands on head of Finance role for an amazing family-run law firm based across the home counties.
£60-70k with some flexibility on both ends.
Location:
Open to profiles based in/near Oxford, Kidlington, Bicester, Banbury, Witney, Abingdon, Newbury, Reading, Basingstoke, Henley, Maidenhead, Aylesbury or Watford.
Work Environment:
This is predominantly an office-based role with some flexibility for hybrid working when workloads allow due to the hands-on team and partner interaction needed.
Role Description:
This is an outstanding opportunity to step into, up or sideways into an all-encompassing FC role where you can add value and hit the ground running.
Ideal Candidate:
We would ideally like someone from the Legal Sector to bring your career-wide Legal Accounting expertise into this FC role (Conveyancing knowledge/experience would be a big plus). However, we are also open to profiles from the wider Professional Services sector who are willing to learn the legal accounting requirements for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the partners, you understand how important “attention to detail” is in this role and how to create “trust” in the numbers, data, and commentary you produce.
- You will have the autonomy to drive process efficiency and deliver workflow improvements to provide timely and trusted data and solutions to the Partners and teams.
- You will be a natural problem solver and proactively remove “bottlenecks” to resolve questions/queries or requests for financial data/information every time/first time in a fast and efficient way.
- You will be a natural leader, someone who will empower your team to use their initiative, to learn, and to develop their skills and ability.
- You will be a natural communicator who is able to coach others in a way that enables them to thrive.
- You will thrive in a business where you can bring existing knowledge and expertise to own financial control across the practice, including acting as COFA under the SRA Accounts Rules.

Ideal Background:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA etc)
- Financial control experience within a legal practice
- Working knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules — comfortable as COFA
- Confident across management accounts, statutory accounts, tax, VAT, and payroll
