Regional Financial Planning Manager
Aberdeen, Dundee & Nairn
£60-75k basic + up to £30k bonus
Permanent | Full-Time
What’s on Offer
- Salary of £60,000 to £75,000 depending on experience.
- Significant performance related bonus opportunity.
- Senior management position within a thriving national Chartered Financial Planning firm.
- Opportunity to influence and make a real impact on performance, culture, conduct and operational standards across the region.
- A role offering considerably more scope than a traditional Adviser Manager or Operations Manager position, with an incredibly supportive leadership team.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Regional Financial Planning Manager to take responsibility for the performance and day to day operation of multiple offices across Aberdeen, Dundee and Nairn.
This is a broad leadership position overseeing Financial Advisers alongside Paraplanners and Administrators, ensuring individuals and teams are performing effectively in line with the firm’s expectations and consistently delivering strong outcomes for clients.
The successful individual will have responsibility for both people performance and operational effectiveness working in collaboration with team leaders across the region.
Key accountabilities:
- Overseeing the performance, conduct, behaviours and KPIs of Financial Advisers across Aberdeen, Dundee and Nairn, ensuring the required standards are met.
- Holding regular performance conversations and ensuring agreed actions are followed through. This is not a T&C role, however. Recognising high performers and helping individuals develop further.
- Working together with office managers and technical team leaders, overseeing the performance of Paraplanners and Administrators across the three locations, ensuring support teams are operating efficiently and providing Advisers with an effective level of service with the required adherence to internal and external processes and compliance requirements.
- Monitoring operational KPIs, workloads, service standards and productivity.
- Ensuring teams work collaboratively across offices.
- Developing a strong, accountable and performance focused culture.
- Ensuring behaviours across the offices reflect the standards and values expected by the firm.
- Identifying operational challenges, inefficiencies and bottlenecks and implementing improvements.
- Working closely with senior management to provide visibility of regional performance.
- Supporting recruitment, development and retention of high-quality people.
- Helping create consistency in processes and ways of working across the three offices.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
