Regional Haulage Operations Manager - Leeds - £45,000 - £50,000 + Package
The Role
This Regional Haulage Operations Manager opportunity is with an established business operating a substantial articulated transport operation across multiple sites in Yorkshire.
You'll take ownership of a large fleet alongside subcontracted hauliers, leading an operation of more than 100 employees and drivers. The focus will be on safety, compliance, service, fleet utilisation, and cost control.
Working closely with the Regional General Manager and wider Logistics distribution and supply chain function, you'll have the autonomy to improve performance and develop the transport operation.

Key responsibilities
- Leading day-to-day haulage operations across multiple sites
- Managing a substantial articulated fleet alongside subcontracted hauliers
- Planning drivers, vehicles, and trailers to maximise utilisation
- Leading and developing a large transport team
- Ensuring compliance with Operator Licence, DVSA, drivers' hours, and Working Time requirements
- Working with fleet and maintenance teams to maximise vehicle availability
- Managing subcontractor performance, compliance, and costs
- Monitoring fuel, telematics, service levels, and overall transport spend
- Managing operational budgets across labour, fuel, fleet, and subcontractors
- Driving improvements across safety, productivity, service, and profitability

Key experience
- Experience as a Regional Haulage Operations Manager, Senior Transport Manager, or Regional Transport Manager
- Proven background managing a large articulated haulage operation
- Experience leading transport teams across multiple sites or operating centres
- Strong knowledge of Operator Licence and road transport compliance
- International Transport Manager CPC is essential
- Experience managing both employed drivers and subcontracted hauliers
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and operational costs
