What you'll bring to the team
We're looking for an experienced and influential Health & Safety Manager to lead the Health & Safety agenda across our Rest of UK Merlin Gateway attractions. Reporting to the UK Health and Safety Director, you'll play a key role in protecting our guests, employees, and contractors while helping our attractions operate safely, compliantly, and efficiently.
This is a highly visible leadership role that combines strategic thinking with practical delivery. You'll work closely with attraction leadership teams, providing expert advice, guidance, and challenge to ensure high standards of health & safety are embedded across the business. From driving continuous improvement initiatives and supporting major projects to managing risk, investigations, and compliance programs, you'll help create environments where colleagues and guests can thrive.
You'll be a trusted partner to senior stakeholders, working across multiple attractions to identify and manage risk, implement effective policies and standards, and build a positive safety culture. You'll support leaders in making informed decisions, ensure robust governance and reporting processes are in place, and lead the development of practical solutions that improve safety performance across the region.
Working with General Managers, operational teams, technical specialists, project teams, and external regulators, you'll influence outcomes, strengthen compliance, and support the safe delivery of new attractions, products, experiences, and facilities. You'll also play a key role in audits, incident management, training programs, and engagement activities that keep health and safety at the forefront of how we operate.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
