HR Business Partner – South / South West England

Location: South of England – Bristol to Southampton corridor (regional, multi-site)

Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum, depending on experience + car allowance of £3k & mileage

Hours: Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm

Contract: Permanent

About the opportunity

This is a regional, field-based role covering sites across the South of England. The successful candidate can be based anywhere within the Bristol–Southampton corridor, or in a location providing reasonable access to the regional portfolio. Regular travel to service locations across the area will be required, with frequent on-site presence expected.

We are supporting a well-established, multi-site organisation operating across the South and South West of England to appoint an experienced HR Business Partner.

This is a highly visible, operational HR role, working closely with senior and site-based leaders across a geographically dispersed portfolio. You will provide practical, commercially focused people advice, using workforce information, employee feedback and organisational insight to identify priorities and drive meaningful improvement.

The role will suit an experienced HR professional who enjoys being close to the operation, building trusted relationships with leaders and turning people data into practical action.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as the HR Business Partner for an allocated portfolio of sites across the South and South West.
  • Build strong, credible relationships with operational and senior leaders, acting as a trusted partner and constructive challenge.
  • Maintain a strong site presence, normally spending at least two days per week working across the portfolio and increasing this where business needs require.
  • Analyse workforce information, employee feedback and other people metrics to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Work with leaders to develop focused people plans, with clear actions, ownership and measures of success.
  • Support leaders in understanding and responding effectively to employee engagement and feedback.
  • Identify recurring issues and organisational hotspots, working with leaders to address underlying causes rather than simply resolving individual symptoms.
  • Provide additional support to sites experiencing people-related challenges, helping leaders stabilise the situation and establish sustainable improvements.
  • Coach and develop managers to strengthen leadership capability and improve confidence in people management.
  • Work collaboratively with specialist HR colleagues, ensuring appropriate escalation and handover of employee relations matters and that organisational learning is shared.
  • Contribute to wider HR initiatives and projects across the organisation.
  • Use insight from across the regional portfolio to identify opportunities for consistency, improved practice and better employee experience.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
