The Role

We are seeking an experienced Regional Internal Controls Lead (UK & Group) to join our Group Internal Controls function on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a high-profile role that will act as the key controls champion for the UK region while also supporting the continued development of the Group-wide controls framework.

Reporting to the Group Head of Internal Controls, you will work closely with senior leaders across the business, providing guidance, support and challenge to ensure robust governance, risk management and internal control practices are embedded throughout the organisation.

This role offers the opportunity to influence controls strategy at Group level, drive continuous improvement initiatives and support the business through an exciting period of growth and change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary Internal Controls contact for UK businesses within the region, supporting the successful implementation of the Group control framework.
  • Support the development and enhancement of the Group Controls framework alongside the Head of Internal Controls.
  • Partner with Group functions including IT, Legal, HR, Sustainability and Finance to strengthen governance, risk management and control environments.
  • Promote best practice in internal controls, governance and risk management across the organisation.
  • Lead controls improvement programmes and support major business change initiatives.
  • Drive the development and effective use of Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) tools.
  • Project manage and coordinate the rollout of the Group control framework across the region.
  • Oversee delivery of the annual controls assurance programme and ensure testing is completed in line with plan.
  • Monitor control deficiencies and remediation activities, ensuring actions are completed within agreed timelines.
  • Prepare and present controls reporting to senior stakeholders.
  • Support the development and delivery of internal controls training and awareness programmes.
  • Provide leadership and oversight to direct reports while supporting wider Internal Controls team objectives.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects and continuous improvement initiatives as required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
