Regional Key Account Manager, Ireland

Department

Group Sales

Contract

Full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract (family leave cover)

Are you a driven sales professional with a passion for books and a thorough understanding of the Irish book market? Pan Macmillan are looking for a Key Account Manager to drive our regional commercial success and ensure our key Irish customers ‘think Pan Mac first’. In this role, you will lead sales strategy, cultivate trusting trade relationships, and champion local acquisitions and author events across Ireland.

Your team

You will be joining the collaborative and high-performing Group Sales team, reporting directly to the Ireland Sales Director. Working alongside a local publicity rep, trade marketing, field teams, and our London-based Communications colleagues, you will join a passionate team dedicated to delivering tailored support to our account partners and growing our market presence in creative, impactful ways.

Your role

As the Key Account Manager, Ireland, you will take ownership of delivering the sales budget across the Irish market. You will act as the key contact for Irish customers – ranging from major key accounts to independent bookshops, wholesalers, and non-traditional retailers – delivering tailored sales presentations, local event support, and strategic account management to maximize growth across frontlist and backlist titles.

Your key responsibilities

  • Drive Regional Revenue: Deliver the overall sales budget for Ireland through targeted account strategy, proactive backlist campaigns, media opportunities, and seasonal promotions.
  • Key Account & Relationship Management: Maintain excellent relationships across all direct, wholesale, and non-traditional accounts, conducting strategic sales calls with tailored title presentations and managed account spend.
  • Local Market Strategy & Acquisitions: Work with Sales Directors to establish priorities for the Irish market, feed back insights for Irish acquisitions, and report on local market trends and competitor activity.
  • Publicity, Events & Local Trade Support: Work with Publicity and Communications teams to drive high-impact author events, and foster relationships with key bookshops.
  • Operations & Distribution Alignment: Oversee pricing, format, and metadata accuracy for Irish editions while working closely with Macmillan Distribution to ensure seamless logistics and account order fulfillment.
  • Trade Communication & Marketing: Boost Pan Macmillan’s presence across the Irish trade by collaborating with trade marketing on newsletters, tailored sell-in sheets, social media, and industry trade shows.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
