Your role

As Regional Medical Science Liaison, you will be EssilorLuxottica’s medical representative towards optometrists, ophthalmologist paediatrics specialists (Ireland only), myopia care private clinics and targeted dispensing opticians and universities in the South West region - Postcodes covered: BA, EX, GY, JE, PL, TA, TQ, TR, BH, DT, PO, SO, SP, GU, RG, SL, BS, CF, HR, LD, NP, SA, WR, KT, TW, UB, B, DY, WS.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To promote Lens and Instruments towards those specific targets.
  • You will bring them a wealth of knowledge and EssilorLuxottica solutions to support appropriate use of lenses and instruments for better patient outcomes. This will include the transformation into the med-tech space with AI developments and wearables.
  • This promotion will be done through field visits, technical education in practices, medical congress symposiums, and training in universities.
  • Your mission will also involve medical and technical education with dispensing opticians, optometrists, and ophthalmologists.

  • Stellest® and Myopia Control category development

  • Varilux® and presbyopia category development

  • You will also be involved in the following activities:

    • You will work closely with the local Product Managers, regional Medical Education teams, and Commercial Teams to establish a medical footprint for EssilorLuxottica in the UKI region. You will be a keynote speaker in local events linked to visual health.
    • You will support volume growth in your region for Stellest® and Varilux® in coordination with the local sales leader.
    • You will establish accounts targeting, field visits, and planning in collaboration with the Commercial Directors and Regional leaders. You will visit independent practices and key accounts following quarterly priorities.
    • You are expected to be 80% in the field, e.g., myopia clinics and customer visits, secure technical education for Stellest® and Varilux®.
    • You will create CPD content and support the delivery of Virtual Classrooms on the Leonardo education platform.

Main requirements:

  • Be educated as an Optometrist or Dispensing Optician with Strong scientific/clinical and medical affairs knowledge, particularly in myopia management.
  • Several years sales experience in practice or in the industry.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership skills: Active Listening and ability to convince key stakeholders.
  • Driven for results and autonomous.
  • Market awareness: Having a working knowledge of the UK and Irish markets, including regulations and medical affairs.
  • Demonstrating outstanding technical knowledge: Understanding and demonstrating the superiority of EssilorLuxottica products and key categories, particularly Stellest® and Varilux®.
  • Business Acumen: Understanding and using information, knowing competitors and market landscape.
  • Customer Focus: Knowing and collaborating with customers, collecting and acting on customer feedback and their needs, proposing improvements.
  • Drive for Results: Committing and completing objectives, delivering work results, aligning, resourcing, changing when needed, applying best practices, and giving recognition for results.
  • Interpersonal Savvy: Building networks and relationships, communicating, influencing, seeking win-win solutions to problems.
