The goal of this international Group is to be a role model in sustainable climate solutions that deliver energy efficient commercial and industrial cooling and heating systems. They offer a full-service solution to their clients in a number of countries, from idea, planning, installation, and delivery to maintenance and service. The group is growing rapidly and, in the UK & Ire through a “buy & build” strategy, acquiring established businesses across the countries.
With more acquisitions planned, the business is looking to realise the benefits of operating as a Group, whilst retaining the USP’s of the individual acquired businesses. To this end, a Group Operations Director is now required to lead and execute the strategic development of the group operations function. Initially, to review current processes and practices and then to execute the plan to create real value through shared best practices to maximise value, both collectively and individually. The Group Operations Director will also play a pivotal role in developing the commercial offer to larger clients to meet their specific needs consistently on a national basis and to develop the long-term people development plan. The role will require travel across the UK & Ireland, with occasional trips to the EU to meet colleagues, to assist leading Group businesses of varying sizes (and with individual operations systems, processes and practices currently) through positive change.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
