Exciting Opportunity: Operations Director

A very exciting time to join a fast-paced and successful construction business, with ambitious plans to double in size by 2028. Reporting to the Regional Director, this role will provide leadership and management across the Northern part of the country, working towards developing and delivering a profitable target revenue of £40m+. You'll be accountable for P&L business operations, implementation of the business plan, and leading the team to profitably grow market share within the region while ensuring safe, on-time delivery.

What Will You Be Responsible For?

As an Operations Director, you'll be leading the regional business, supporting your team in delivering high-quality construction projects and driving profitable growth. Your day-to-day will include:

  • Managing the delivery of projects within the region, overseeing a diverse portfolio of operational and pre-construction projects across different clients and frameworks
  • Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with clients, addressing their needs, and identifying opportunities for business expansion
  • Leading, managing, and inspiring a team of highly motivated employees, providing opportunities and development for all
  • Working with pre-construction teams to develop work-winning strategies and executing successful pre-construction and mobilisation programmes
  • Building high-performing teams and representing the business with public sector and private clients through existing networks and developing new relationships

Requirements

What are we looking for?

This role of Operations Director is great for you if you have a track record of delivering public sector construction projects in framework environments. To excel in the role, you must be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience as a collaborative influencer able to navigate client, supply chain, and external stakeholder landscapes
  • A proven track record of coaching, developing, and leading diverse and inclusive teams to create an environment of empowerment, trust, and delivery
  • Being an emotionally intelligent leader accountable for people, customers, financial, safety, and operational performance
  • Significant experience setting clear goals and targets to drive business execution
  • Communicating with clarity and authenticity to motivate and inspire people, creating an inclusive high-performance culture
