MacGregor Black are partnering with a leading UK retail business on the search for a Regional Operations Manager – Convenience Retail.

This is a permanent field-based role covering the South West, including Bristol, Bournemouth, Southampton and Exeter.

This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a large-scale retail operation, taking responsibility for 65 convenience and forecourt locations and a workforce of approximately 500 colleagues.

Leading through your Area Managers and Store Managers, you'll be accountable for commercial performance, operational excellence and developing high-performing teams that consistently deliver outstanding customer experiences.

You'll spend the majority of your time in the field, coaching leaders, improving operational standards and ensuring every location performs to its full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the commercial performance of your region, delivering sales, profit and operational KPIs.
  • Coaching and developing Area Managers and Store Managers to maximise capability and performance.
  • Driving improvements in sales, margin, labour productivity, availability and operational execution.
  • Creating succession plans and developing future retail leaders.
  • Ensuring exceptional standards across health & safety, food safety and operational compliance.
  • Leading regional implementation of new initiatives, store developments and business change.
  • Working collaboratively with Commercial, Buying, Supply Chain, HR and Operations to deliver business objectives.
  • Building a culture of accountability, engagement and continuous improvement across approximately 500 colleagues.

What We're Looking For:

  • Convenience Retail
  • Forecourt Retail
  • Grocery Retail
  • Food Retail
  • Hospitality Retail
  • Experience leading Regional, Area or Multi-Site Operations.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with responsibility for sales and profit performance.
  • Experience coaching high-performing leadership teams.
  • A hands-on leadership style with a passion for developing people.
  • Strong operational discipline with experience managing compliance, health & safety and preferably food safety.
  • A full UK driving licence.
