About The Role
At Sulzer, we're not just maintaining equipment, we're keeping critical industries moving. Our Services Division supports customers across a wide range of sectors through a network of service centres that deliver repair, maintenance, engineering and field service solutions.
We're now looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to lead procurement activities across our UK Services business. This is a high-impact leadership role where you'll manage a team of Category Buyers and Purchasing Administrators, influence procurement strategy, and help shape the future of our supply chain operations.
Key Duties
- Lead, develop and mentor a team of Category Buyers and Purchasing Administrators.
- Implement category strategies that support business growth and operational excellence.
- Drive supplier consolidation and standardisation opportunities across the UK service network.
- Negotiate competitive supplier agreements, rebates and commercial terms.
- Build strategic supplier partnerships that improve service, quality and cost performance.
- Act as a senior escalation point for supplier-related challenges.
- Monitor supplier performance, delivery metrics and procurement KPIs.
- Identify cost-saving and value-improvement opportunities through benchmarking and market analysis.
- Partner with stakeholders across operations, engineering, finance and leadership teams to support business objectives.
- Champion compliance, procurement governance and continuous improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For
We're interested in speaking with procurement professionals who combine strong commercial capability with proven leadership experience.
You'll Ideally Bring
- Procurement experience within engineering, manufacturing, industrial services or a related technical environment.
- Proven experience developing, implementing and embedding category-based procurement strategies across multiple spend areas, driving supplier optimisation, cost reduction, risk mitigation and long-term value creation.
- Experience leading and developing procurement teams.
- Strong supplier management and negotiation expertise.
- Commercial acumen with the ability to balance cost, quality and operational requirements.
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders and influencing decision making.
- A proactive and strategic approach to driving change and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of SAP and/or D365 would be advantageous.
