Drake Plastics is a specialized plastics manufacturer located in Cypress, Texas. We are an innovative industry leader in ultra-high-performance polymer machinable shapes- rod, plate, and tube. We serve customers in business sectors including aircraft, space, life sciences, military & defense, medical, semiconductor, and energy.
About the Opportunity: Sales Agent, United Kingdom
We are seeking a motivated self-employed individual based in the United Kingdom to represent our company and products in our wide range of market segments. Qualified individuals should be technically educated with an outgoing personality and strong technical and mechanical aptitude. Plastics experience is helpful but not required. Sales and negotiation skills are required to help our customers specify and purchase the right material for their application. Additionally, building relationships with our existing customers while following up on leads and seeking and developing additional prospects. Remote/Home office-based, with 50-60% travel throughout the UK expected for industry and customer engagements.

Responsibilities
- Work with Drake’s experienced sales and technical team to gain the knowledge and experience necessary to become the primary regional sales interface for Drake Plastics and our sister company, Genesis Medial Plastics in the UK.
- Investigate, develop, nurture, manage, document, and expand client opportunities/leads, relationships, and accounts.
- Collaborate with Drake’s Sales team to formulate regional short- and long-term goals and strategies, build customer solutions, quotes, and proposals.
- Provide regional customers with technical service and support (training provided).
- Develop, execute, and report on sales results and new opportunities.
Primary Competencies/Qualifications
- Excellent listening and communication skills, spoken and written, English.
- Dedicated, loyal, and reliable.
- High energy, self-motivated, and results-oriented individual.
- Professional with high business acumen and negotiation experience.
- Organized with a keen ability to prioritize, multitask, collaborate, and solve problems.
- Good understanding of the United Kingdom’s industrial business opportunities, commercial standards, and cultural acumen.
- Ability to travel as required for customer visits, including training at Drake/ Genesis HQ in Texas, USA.
- Engineering/bachelor’s degree or higher in aerospace, materials, or mechanical engineering.
- 2-5 years sales experience, including quoting and value-added selling.
- (plastics manufacturing or distribution a plus)
