For over 150 years, Stenner has been a leading manufacturer of bandsaw machinery and engineered solutions for the timber processing industry. Our equipment is trusted by sawmills and timber manufacturers worldwide, and as we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced industry professional to help drive our next stage of growth.

This is more than a sales role. We are looking for someone who understands timber processing operations and can act as a trusted advisor to customers, helping them improve productivity, performance and profitability through innovative engineering solutions.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will lead sales and business development activities across the UK and Ireland while supporting the growth of our international dealer network.

You will work closely with:

  • Sawmill owners and directors
  • Timber processors
  • Pallet manufacturers
  • Fencing and construction timber businesses
  • Timber treatment operations
  • Wood products manufacturers

From initial customer discussions through to installation and commissioning, you will play a key role in delivering capital equipment projects and developing long-term customer partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow machinery sales across the UK and Ireland
  • Build strong relationships with key customers and major timber processing groups
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer productivity and operational performance
  • Conduct site surveys and production assessments
  • Manage capital equipment projects from enquiry through to commissioning
  • Prepare commercial proposals and quotations
  • Support international distributors and dealer partners
  • Represent Stenner at industry exhibitions and events
  • Identify new market opportunities, strategic partnerships and dealership arrangements
  • Monitor industry trends, technologies and competitor activity

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Strong understanding of the timber processing sector
  • Experience working with, selling to, or managing operations within sawmills or timber manufacturing businesses
  • Excellent relationship-building and commercial skills
  • Ability to engage confidently with business owners, directors and operational teams
  • Strong project management and organisational abilities
  • Willingness to travel throughout the UK, Ireland and internationally
  • Full UK driving licence

Highly Desirable

  • Experience selling capital equipment or industrial machinery
  • Sawmilling industry experience
  • Knowledge of timber conversion, yield recovery, resawing, grading, kiln drying or pallet production
  • Existing industry network within timber processing
  • International business development experience
  • Experience managing distributors or dealer networks
  • Additional language skills
