Opportunity for Senior Regional Sales Leadership in Scotland
If you're already leading commercial insurance sales in Scotland, and ready for the next step with increased responsibility and rewards, then this is the kind of opportunity worth looking at.
This is a senior regional sales leadership role with genuine infrastructure behind it. You'll inherit an established team of experienced Sales Managers and Development Executives, alongside a significant network of introducers and strategic partners that is already producing opportunities across the region.
The remit is to take what is already working and build it into something considerably bigger.
The Opportunity
You'll have responsibility for driving the regional growth strategy for Scotland and Northern Ireland, leading an experienced sales team while continuing to develop the broader network of relationships, introducers and partnerships that support new business generation.
There is meaningful investment available to support further growth, so this is not a role where the expectation is simply to squeeze more from the existing team. You will have the backing to recruit, invest and develop the proposition where there is a strong commercial case to do so.
There is also substantial support around the sales function, including dedicated project management and placement capability, allowing you to concentrate on leadership, strategy, relationships and revenue rather than being dragged into every operational detail.
What the Role Looks Like
You will be responsible for:
- Leading and developing an established team of senior sales professionals across Scotland.
- Setting the regional sales strategy and creating a clear plan for sustainable organic growth.
- Building on an existing network of introducers, professional connections and strategic partners.
- Identifying where further investment, recruitment or acquisition of talent can accelerate growth.
- Working closely with broking, placement and project management teams to turn opportunities into profitable, well-delivered client relationships.
- Maintaining visibility in the Scottish insurance and business community and developing senior relationships with clients, prospects and partners.
- Creating the environment, structure and accountability that allows experienced producers to perform at their best.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Who This Could Suit
This is likely to suit somebody who already has credibility in the Scottish commercial insurance market and understands how to lead experienced salespeople rather than simply manage activity.
You may already be operating as a Regional Sales Director, Sales Director, Regional Development Director or in a senior commercial leadership position within a major broker.
The important part is that you can combine strategic thinking with commercial delivery. You will understand how to build high-performing teams, develop external distribution relationships and create sustainable growth without turning the environment into a high-pressure numbers exercise.
For somebody who has built a strong career but is now looking for a broader regional mandate, more investment behind their ideas and the opportunity to shape a significant growth strategy, there is considerable scope here.
The Business
You would be joining one of the largest and best-resourced insurance broking groups in the market, but the attraction of this particular role is the strength of the platform already in place locally.

There is an experienced sales team, established distribution relationships, specialist placement capability, project support and significant financial backing available for the next phase of growth.
The expectation is not that one individual arrives and creates everything from scratch. The opportunity is to lead, connect and expand an existing platform with considerably more headroom.
Package and Benefits
The base salary is expected to sit between £100,000 and £150,000 depending on experience, with the opportunity to earn a similar level again through bonus.
The wider executive benefits package includes:
- 30 days' annual leave plus UK Bank Holidays, with the option to purchase up to five additional days.
- Pension contributions of up to 10% from the company where the employee contributes 5%.
- Private medical healthcare for the employee, partner or family.
- Life assurance at four times basic salary.
- Income protection.
- Funded health screening every two years.
- Access to a wider flexible benefits programme and an employee stock purchase plan.
The Next Step
At this level, you are unlikely to move because somebody sends you a job description. You will want to understand the mandate, the people already around the role, the level of investment available and whether the opportunity is genuinely bigger than what you have today.
If that conversation is worth having, we can give you the full context confidentially before you decide whether there is any reason to take it further.
