Job Description

Sales Strategy & Business Growth

  • Develop and execute short-, medium-, and long-term regional sales strategies aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Translate corporate growth ambitions into actionable sales plans, KPIs, and performance metrics.
  • Drive achievement of revenue, volume, market share, distribution, and profitability targets.
  • Monitor market dynamics, customer trends, and competitive activities to identify growth opportunities and potential risks.
  • Lead strategic business planning processes, including annual operating plans, sales forecasts, and budget management.

Market Development & Channel Management

  • Formulate and implement regional market development strategies to ensure sustainable and profitable growth.
  • Expand product distribution coverage and strengthen market execution across all channels.
  • Develop tailored channel strategies for:
    • General Trade (GT)
    • Modern Trade (MT)
    • Foodservice/HORECA
    • Regional Key Accounts
    • Emerging Retail Channels
  • Ensure effective execution of promotional activities, pricing strategies, and trade investment initiatives.

Distributor & Route-to-Market Excellence

  • Establish, develop, and optimize a high-performing distributor network across the region.
  • Build long-term strategic relationships with key distributors, wholesalers, retailers, and foodservice customers.
  • Evaluate distributor capabilities and implement performance improvement programs.
  • Strengthen route-to-market effectiveness, improve coverage efficiency, and maximize sales productivity.
  • Ensure healthy inventory levels and effective demand planning throughout the sales network.

Sales Team Leadership

  • Build, lead, inspire, and retain a high-performing sales organization.
  • Drive a performance-oriented culture with clear accountability and execution excellence.
  • Recruit, coach, mentor, and develop sales talent at multiple organizational levels.
  • Create a robust succession planning and leadership development framework.
  • Foster strong collaboration across sales, marketing, supply chain, finance, and customer service teams.

Financial & Profitability Management

  • Manage sales budgets and commercial investments effectively.
  • Improve sales productivity and return on investment across channels and customers.
  • Drive sales of strategic and high-margin product categories to enhance overall profitability.
  • Monitor P&L performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, trade spend controls, and governance requirements.

The successful candidate will:

  • Demonstrate strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Lead through influence and inspire high levels of engagement.
  • Make fact-based decisions using sales analytics and market insights.
  • Drive execution rigor while maintaining a long-term business perspective.
  • Champion continuous improvement and organizational capability building.
  • Operate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced, and highly competitive environment.

The Successful Applicant

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related discipline. MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum 15-20 years of progressive sales leadership experience within the FMCG, Food & Beverage, or Consumer Goods industry.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in a Regional Sales Director or equivalent senior sales leadership role.
  • Proven track record of consistently delivering ambitious sales and profitability targets.
  • Extensive experience managing multiple sales channels, including distribution, traditional trade, retail, and foodservice.
  • Deep understanding of distributor management, channel development, and route-to-market strategies.
  • Strong experience in sales operations, forecasting, business planning, and commercial execution.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to translate data into actionable business strategies.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned region.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working for multinational FMCG or leading domestic consumer goods companies.
  • Strong network and channel resources within the food and beverage industry.
  • Experience managing large geographical territories and diverse customer bases.
  • Familiarity with digital sales tools, CRM systems, and sales performance management platforms.
  • Demonstrated success in leading organizational transformation and commercial capability enhancement initiatives.
