We are working exclusively with a leading global engineering and technology business to appoint a Regional Sales Director to join their UK operation.

This is a senior commercial role responsible for driving sales across an allocated region, developing key customer relationships and identifying new business opportunities.

You will take ownership of the full sales process, from prospect identification and qualification through to presentations, proposals, negotiation and contract close. You will also maintain customer relationships post-sale and work closely with internal teams to ensure customer requirements are delivered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities.
  • Manage and grow key customer accounts.
  • Own the complete sales cycle through to contract close.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals and quotations.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements and contracts.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts and opportunity data.
  • Take responsibility for account profitability and commercial performance.
  • Identify new markets and commercial opportunities.
  • Understand customer requirements and work with internal engineering teams.
  • Monitor competitor activity and market developments.
  • Attend customer meetings, conferences and exhibitions.
  • Work with international colleagues, customers and partners.
  • Regular UK and overseas travel will be required.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record in sales, business development or account management.
  • Strong customer relationship management experience.
  • Excellent commercial awareness.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Experience managing the full sales cycle.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Technical, engineering or manufacturing experience would be advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel regularly within the UK and internationally.
