Job Title: Regional Sales Manager

About the Opportunity:

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for the leadership and motivation of a team of Business Development Managers, including recruitment, training, development, the management of performance and design of reward and recognition structures to ensure that they are motivated and are equipped with the knowledge, skills and tools to perform and execute effectively in order to achieve their personal targets and objectives.

Location:

This role is located in the southern UK territory, ideally located in London.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead the performance of their Region Sales Team to successfully deliver on the planned in-market strategy and achieve annual sales objectives.
  • Ensure activation plans are in place and actioned for both new and existing business across all territories in their Region to maximise formulary access, HCP recommendation, meter placements and market share targets.
  • Achieve annual sales commitments for their individual assigned territory, including meter placement, strip market share and strip sales volume, by promoting the Contour blood glucose meter portfolio within primary and secondary, leading in-territory efforts to partner with targeted NHS accounts (i.e. ICB’s, PCN’s, Health Boards, Trusts) and develop strong local professional relationships with all stakeholders including Key Opinion Leaders in the blood glucose meter recommendation process.
  • Align the sales organisation’s priorities and objectives with business strategy through active participation to country management meetings, corporate strategic planning, forecasting and budgeting process, while leading the sales strategy development and resource planning.
  • Lead learning and development initiatives for the sales team and coach the sales team around their specific role accountabilities, particularly their selling skills, brand and customer knowledge – conduct regular field visits to monitor and improve sales team effectiveness.
  • Keep abreast and report competitive activity, new opportunities, and marketplace trends through consistent monitoring within sales team and interaction with external customers and internal teams.
  • Manage their Region’s performance management process - including equitable allocation of organisation sales objectives across all territories – and foster a culture of accountability, high-performance, and integrity which drive organisational excellence and supports professional development.

  • University degree or equivalent level qualification preferably in science, nursing, marketing, or business is preferred.
  • Proven sales ability and demonstrable experience as a successful account manager or equivalent, e.g., successful sales experience with key PCO / CCG stakeholders in the healthcare industry (Diabetes, Medical Devices, Pharma, Diagnostics).
  • Prior experience with sales management.
  • Thorough and up to date knowledge of industry and other appropriate guidelines.
