Regional Sales Manager – South (Valve & Piping Automation)
London / South Coast / South Wales / Lower Midlands (Reading–Slough / M4 corridor as an epicentre)
We're looking for a Regional Sales Manager to lead growth across the southern UK for a distributor operating at the heart of valve automation and piping solutions into the process industries.
You'll take ownership of a well-established region with strong legacy relationships already in place, including major accounts across the refining and chemicals sectors. Alongside protecting and growing that core, you'll have real license to diversify into adjacent markets including power and gas, and to support project activity with major EPCs.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
What you'll be doing
- Driving new business development (the role skews heavily towards BD, with account management a smaller but important part of the mix)
- Building and protecting relationships with key accounts, including supporting shutdown and turnaround planning through strong market intelligence
- Identifying and qualifying new prospects - from maintenance and life-extension work through to major capital projects
- Understanding and engaging the key decision-makers within major EPCs
- Spotting gaps - new products, new frameworks, and untapped pockets of opportunity within power, chemical, and gas utility markets
What we're looking for
- A proven track record of driving growth in a high-pressure, target-driven sales environment
- Strong self-discipline and time management - you'll be trusted to run your own diary and prioritise effectively
- Experience within valve automation, fluid control, pumps or instrumentation, ideally with existing networks across process, oil & gas, chemical or refining sectors
- A polished, credible sales approach - comfortable operating at a senior level with major accounts and EPCs
- Stability - we're looking for someone building a career, not moving between roles
