Role Overview

To assume full responsibility for a set of accounts and grow their business, along with developing new business leads, onboarding new accounts, and driving sales of NPD nationally. Provide product and technical advice to new and existing customers.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve defined sales and margin targets for existing key accounts based on agreed targets/objectives
  • Manage, maintain, and grow business for existing accounts through regular contact and relationship building.
  • Develop new product development business based on agreed targets/objectives
  • Target and onboard new customers based on agreed targets/objectives
  • Proactively reach and develop sales opportunities, follow up on the sales opportunities, and create your own commercial strategy to expand customer base
  • Attend trade events and exhibitions and represent and promote the Company
  • Provide any training to customers and attend training days
  • Action all leads, sales enquiries, and requests promptly
  • Obtain and maintain a high level of product and industry knowledge
  • Regularly report on all business activity, developments, and opportunities via agreed reporting systems and sales meetings
  • Form part of the sales team to support, deliver, and influence the wider regional commercial strategy
  • Promote and champion the features and benefits of all Bartoline products

Knowledge of decorative, DIY, and trade products is not essential as full product training will be provided.

Experience & Skills to be Successful

  • Successful development of key builders merchant and paint merchant accounts at HQ and branch level
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent personal relations within the builders merchants network
  • Track record of developing additional sales from existing stockists
  • Ability to develop long-term relationships with customers through excellent customer service.
  • Sales or business development skills with ability to influence decisions and overcome objections.
  • Ability to present technical and product information with clarity to a wide range of audiences.
  • Attention to detail and understanding the requirements of key customer stakeholders, with the ability to communicate customer needs effectively internally.
  • Strong work ethic with ability to perform under pressure.
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to work independently and committed to making a difference and organizing your workload to achieve defined targets and objectives.

Details of the Role

  • Full-time (37.50hrs) 8:30 – 17:00
  • Due to the nature of the role, travel throughout the working week will be required.
