Are you an ambitious sales leader with a passion for wine, people and the London On-Trade?
We’re looking for a Regional Sales Manager – Heartland to lead a high-performing team and drive profitable, sustainable growth across one of the most strategically important areas of the London On-Trade.
What do we mean by “Heartland”?
At Berkmann, Heartland refers to London’s independent restaurant sector focused on European, Mediterranean and related cuisines — including Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Greek, Turkish, Lebanese/Levantine and North African restaurants. It is a diverse, relationship-led part of the On-Trade and an important market for our portfolio.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows the London trade, enjoys being out with customers and teams, and can combine strong people management with real commercial delivery.
What you’ll be doing
Lead & inspire
- Lead and develop a team of five Sales Account Managers, coaching them in the field and creating a high-performing, positive team culture.
- Set clear goals and KPIs, supporting individual development and performance.
Drive growth
- Own the Heartland team budget alongside your own sales target.
- Identify and convert new business opportunities, building sustainable and profitable growth.
- Use market insight and data to shape sales plans and maximise opportunities.
- Champion our key agency wine brands across London’s independent On-Trade.
Build relationships & influence
- Become a trusted ambassador for the business within London’s independent European restaurant scene.
- Build strong, long-term customer and industry relationships.
- Partner with the National On-Trade Sales Director to develop and deliver creative sales strategies.
- Work collaboratively across Marketing, Purchasing, Finance and Credit Control to deliver an outstanding customer experience.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
