RAM Engineering & Tooling Ltd
Midlands | Field Based | Full Time

We are growing!

As part of the next stage of our UK expansion, we are looking for a Regional Sales Manager to develop and manage the Midlands territory.

About Us

We are an application-led engineering business supplying CNC machine tools, tooling, workholding, and manufacturing technology to UK industry.

Our approach is to understand our customers' requirements, bring together the right technical and commercial solution, and then support that customer properly from initial discussion through installation and beyond.

That's the kind of salesperson we're looking for.

The Role

You'll take responsibility for developing RAM's presence across the Midlands, identifying new opportunities while building long-term relationships with manufacturers throughout the region.

You'll be supported by RAM's applications, operations, service, and OEM network, allowing you to concentrate on developing opportunities and putting the right solutions in front of customers.

The role will involve:

  • Developing new machinery and manufacturing technology opportunities across the Midlands
  • Building relationships with engineering and manufacturing companies
  • Understanding customer applications before recommending a solution
  • Managing opportunities from initial enquiry through quotation and order
  • Working alongside our applications team on more technically involved projects
  • Identifying opportunities for tooling, workholding, monitoring, and other complementary technologies
  • Developing relationships that continue well beyond the initial machine sale
  • Representing RAM and our manufacturing partners professionally throughout the territory

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Our portfolio ranges from small to medium high-performance CNC machine installations through to significantly larger engineered manufacturing projects.

Who We're Looking For

Machine-tool sales experience and a solid understanding of manufacturing practices would be advantageous.

You may currently work in CNC machinery, cutting tools, workholding, applications, manufacturing technology, or another technical engineering sales environment.

More important is that you understand manufacturing, can have credible conversations with engineers and production teams, and know how to develop relationships rather than simply chase transactions.

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Commercially driven but technically curious.
  • Comfortable developing new business.
  • Prepared to listen before trying to sell.
  • Accountable for their territory and opportunities.
  • Good at communicating — with customers and internally.
