Regional Sales Manager

£50,000 - £55,000 + company car + bonuses | Southwest

My client, a well-established supplier within their sector, is currently seeking a Regional Sales Manager to join their growing sales team on a permanent basis. This field-based role is ideal for a commercially driven sales professional who enjoys building strong client relationships, developing new business opportunities, and managing a regional territory with autonomy.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales growth across the assigned region, achieving agreed revenue and margin targets
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with builders’ merchants, landscapers, and trade customers
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the territory
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through to close and aftersales support
  • Maintain accurate sales pipelines, forecasts, and customer information within the CRM system
  • Plan and manage customer visits, product presentations, and promotional activity across the region
  • Work closely with internal departments to ensure a high level of customer service
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for growth
  • Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for senior management

Skills

  • Proven experience in a field-based sales role, ideally within construction, building materials, or a related industry
  • Experience selling through builders’ merchants and working with professional trade customers
  • Strong track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets
  • Self-motivated and confident managing an independent regional territory
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Experience using CRM systems to manage pipelines and customer activity
  • Commercially aware with a proactive and strategic sales approach
