Ever wanted to take a brewery with centuries of history and make it the one everyone’s talking about again? Here’s your shot at leading the charge.

We’re working with one of the UK’s biggest beer and pub businesses. This role leads its Scottish brewing business, which has real heritage, its own portfolio of beers and a lot of ambition. It’s already the number two player in Scotland. Now it wants to stop taking the punches and start throwing them.

This is a brewery with a proud past, big backing and a team ready for the right leader.

Why should you care?

Because this is a legacy job. You’ll have the freedom and the backing to reshape how a historic brewery competes in one of the best beer markets in the UK. Two giant brands own most of the bar in Scotland. Your job is to give your team the belief, the energy and the plan to take them on. Behind you is a huge group with a marketing team keen to bring the brand bang up to date. And if you want to grow further, there are routes across pubs, operations and the wider business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Your next move is up to you.

What you’ll actually be doing

  • Leading a team of around 11 experienced field sales people across Scotland
  • Backing your strong performers and having the honest conversations with anyone who’s coasting
  • Turning around declining territories and getting the region growing again
  • Giving your team real belief that their beers can win taps against the market leaders
  • Working with marketing to make a heritage brand feel fresh and relevant
  • Driving the brewery’s own portfolio while building strong relationships with major supplier partners
  • Being part of a UK sales leadership team, with regular trips south to work alongside your peers

Who you are

You’re a people leader first. You’ve led teams and you’ve managed performance properly, support and coaching first, but you don’t duck the tough calls when they’re needed. You’re confident enough to walk into an established team, change how things are done and bring people with you. You bring fresh thinking, not “we’ve always done it this way.” You’ll have led sales teams in FMCG, ideally drinks: beer, wine, spirits or soft drinks. On-trade or off-trade both work. What matters is that you’ve led a team and moved the numbers.
