Who are we?
SM Resinas is an international distributor of plastic raw materials, with a strong presence across EMEA and LATAM.
With more than 60 years of experience in the polyolefins market, we specialise in the commercialisation and distribution of polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP). As an official Dow distributor, we offer a strong product portfolio backed by technical expertise, commercial know-how and reliable supply-chain support.
The opportunity
We are looking for an experienced commercial professional to represent and develop SM Resinas in the UK market.
We are open to considering both:
- A permanent employee, joining our commercial team; or
- An independent sales agent, collaborating with us on a long-term basis.
The key priority is to find someone with a well-established network in the UK plastics sector who can develop business quickly and build lasting relationships with customers.
Key responsibilities
- Develop new business opportunities and grow sales of PE and PP in the UK.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with plastic converters and other relevant customers.
- Identify market opportunities, customer needs and new applications for our product portfolio.
- Promote SM Resinas’ products and technical-commercial capabilities.
- Manage customer visits, commercial negotiations and sales agreements within agreed pricing parameters.
- Work closely with our Customer Service, Supply Chain and technical teams to ensure excellent customer support.
- Gather and share relevant market intelligence, including demand trends, competitor activity and customer requirements.
- Achieve agreed targets for sales volume, profitability and customer-base growth.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
