Clerkin Connect is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Regional Sales Manager to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven sales professional with experience in construction products, insulation, or building materials. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business, strengthening existing customer relationships, and driving sustainable sales growth across their assigned region.

The role combines business development, account management, and technical sales. You will work closely with customers, architects, engineers, and other industry professionals, developing a strong understanding of our client’s product range and providing informed technical advice throughout the sales process.

The Role

As Regional Sales Manager, you will:

  • Generate sales and consistently work towards achieving or exceeding monthly targets and KPIs.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across existing and emerging markets.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with new and existing customers, encouraging retention and repeat business.
  • Arrange and attend customer meetings, site visits, and industry events to promote our client’s products and solutions.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the product range and its applications, providing technical advice and support to customers, architects, and engineers.
  • Prepare accurate quotations, tenders, and sales proposals.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the sales pipeline and produce reliable sales forecasts.
  • Monitor competitor activity, market developments, and emerging industry trends.
  • Identify opportunities to improve sales performance and contribute to the wider sales and commercial strategy.
  • Deliver professional sales, product, and CPD presentations to customers and industry professionals.
  • Represent our client at trade shows, networking events, and other relevant industry activities.

Customer Service & Account Management

You will take ownership of the customer experience from initial enquiry through to delivery, working closely with internal teams to ensure customer requirements are met.

This will include:

  • Providing technical support when required.
  • Communicating complex information clearly and professionally.
  • Ensuring sales orders contain accurate product, pricing, purchase order, delivery, and logistics information.

You will also maintain accurate customer, opportunity, and activity records within the company CRM and ensure relevant sales administration and documentation is kept up to date.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • A proven track record in sales, preferably within construction products, insulation, building materials, or a related sector.
  • Good knowledge of construction products, building materials, and their applications.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify and convert new business opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • The confidence to engage effectively with customers, architects, engineers, and other industry professionals.
  • A proactive, positive, and solutions-focused approach.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A strong commitment to customer service and delivering a high-quality customer experience.
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues across the business.
  • A good understanding of marketing techniques and channels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and relevant online applications.
  • A relevant business, sales, or marketing qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the assigned region.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

The successful candidate will be expected to carry out their responsibilities in accordance with our client’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, and ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management System, together with all relevant company policies and procedures.

This includes maintaining appropriate documentation, following health and safety and driving-for-work procedures, reporting hazards or concerns, completing required vehicle checks, and complying with applicable UK road traffic legislation.
