THE ROLE
The Regional Sales Engineer will follow established sales processes and guidelines to promote and sell Roots Systems package solutions in the Middle East region. We are looking for a professional Sales Engineer with strong knowledge and book of contacts in the Oil & Gas and Energy Sector in the Middle East region.

Our ideal candidate will have knowledge and understanding of rotating machinery, such as pumps, compressors, and mechanical seals and their support systems, and of fluid-handling equipment, such as piping, valves, pressure vessels, heat exchangers and measuring instruments.

You will need demonstrable experience of selling skid equipment to the engineering sector (EPC, Licensors, Systems Integrators, Packagers, End Users and Operators) in the gulf region.
The main duties of the role are:
- Analyse and understand market insights, customer buying behaviour and make sales plans according to the business strategy and targets.
- Read customer enquiries including data sheets, project specifications, P&IDs, as well as commercial aspects such as terms and conditions.
- Look for and manage leads from the market and customers and convert them into real business opportunities.
- Be active in the market and focus on making visits, meetings and lunch & learn presentations.
- Attend trade shows, exhibitions, and other marketing activities as required.
- Interact with customers, focusing on their needs and highlighting the value of our products and services.
- Maintain accurate records of opportunities and bids.
ABOUT YOU
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical or Industrial)
- Demonstrable experience in one of the following: Complex Sales Process Management/ Business Development /Key Account Management in the Middle East region (Energy, Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Chemical and Petrochemical sectors)
- Highly motivated, goal-oriented, diligent, organised self-starter with an orientation towards a high level of customer service
- Ability to interpret and analyse customer needs
- Passion for sales, with a proven track record in handling Strategic Key Accounts and a strong customer focus
- Excellent English communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Arabic language skills is an added advantage.
- Ability to thrive both independently and in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to develop engaged customer relationships
- A solution-oriented mind-set, determined to consistently meet and exceed goals
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability and willingness to travel within the UAE and across the Middle East and occasionally stay overnight in remote locations, as needed
- Hold a valid UAE Driver’s License
- Be based in Abu Dhabi, or willing to relocate to Abu Dhabi.
