Job Title: Head, Physical Security (EMEA) – Regional Leader

About the Role
As a key leader in Waymo’s Physical Security organization, you will ensure the effective execution of security programs across bidirectional corporate environments, including offices, vehicle depots, parking facilities, and technical labs. This onsite role in London, UK reports directly to the Head of Physical Security Operations.
Key Responsibilities

Regional Strategy
- Facilitate the seamless delivery of physical security programs across the EMEA region, identifying scalable process improvements and standardization strategies for diverse locations.

Operations Leadership
- Manage daily security health for a portfolio of sites with varying operational demands, from high-traffic corporate offices to industrial vehicle depots.
- Ensure alignment with global security standards, operating budgets, and regional compliance requirements.

Vendor & Budget Governance
- Oversee security budgets, contract negotiations, and performance monitoring of vendor-provided security services (e.g., guard forces).
- Maintain compliance with global SLAs and performance metrics, ensuring cost-effective and resilient security delivery.

Stakeholder Collaboration
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Security Investigations, HR, and Legal teams to resolve multi-disciplinary workplace security challenges.
- Serve as a link between internal operations, law enforcement, and regional security partners to maintain a secure and cohesive security framework.

Incident Leadership & Crisis Coordination
- Lead regional physical security incidents, emergency responses, and crisis communications, liaising with:
- Waymo Security Operations Center (WaySOC)
- Local law enforcement agencies
- Global Physical Security leadership
- Act as the Primary Point of Contact (POC) for EMEA physical security investigations, coordinating with law enforcement and authorities.
- Lead regional physical security incidents, emergency responses, and crisis communications, liaising with:
Requirements
Essential Criteria (All Mandatory)
- 7+ years in corporate or large-organization security roles, with a track record of high accountability in physical security operations.
- 3+ years of experience managing a security portfolio across multiple site types (e.g., offices, production facilities, depots, labs).
- Proven experience in onsite security incident response and crisis coordination within a regionally distributed, multi-location security model.
- Strong background in regional security governance, including:
- Vendor contract administration
- Guard performance oversight
- KPI/high-level metrics analysis
- Exemplary communication skills, including stakeholder influence and collaboration in fast-paced environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in full-cycle security investigations (e.g., evidence collection, incident resolution, final reporting) in either:
- Corporate security contexts
- Law enforcement frameworks

Preferable Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a security-related field (e.g., Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, or Security Studies).
- Field experience in high-velocity security environments, including:
- Fleet vehicle depots
- E-commerce/fulfillment centers
- Logistics hubs during periods of rapid organizational growth
- Proficiency in physical security technologies, including:
- Integrated intrusion alarms
- Access control systems
- Video management platforms
- 5+ years of complex investigation experience combining law enforcement and corporate environments.
Key Conditions & Compensation
Travel Requirement
- International travel: up to 35% (prorated based on job requirements).
Salary & Benefits
The base salary ranges from £88,000 – £92,500 GBP, dependent on factors such as location, professional experience, education, and performance metrics. Additionally, eligible employees may participate in:
