At Trelleborg Marine & Infrastructure, we go beyond service, building lasting partnerships with engineers, contractors, and owners to deliver long-term solutions that make a real impact.
About The Job
As the Regional Service and Spare parts Manager, you will lead and manage the Regional Service Support function for internal and external customers, ensuring the Service Department delivers against TMSUK, TMS BU/BA and Trelleborg Group objectives. Your role requires strong customer relationship management, structured people leadership and the ability to prioritise multiple demands in a fast-moving marine service environment operating 24/7, 365 days a year. You will maintain a sales-minded, customer-focused approach while developing a capable, responsive and accountable service team that supports vessels, customers and internal stakeholders globally. Your role is responsible for the delivery of regional service operations, aftermarket growth, spare parts management and lifecycle support activities which maximise customer satisfaction, system availability and business performance.
About Your Responsibilities
- Lead the regional service operation, ensuring safe, compliant and customer-focused support across field service, service coordination and technical response activities.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, acting as an escalation point for key customers and ensuring issues are managed professionally through to resolution.
- Provide structured people management, including clear objectives, regular reviews, performance follow-up, workload planning, coaching and development of direct reports.
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving 24/7 marine environment, balancing urgent customer requirements, planned service activity, spare parts availability, customer expectations and internal business needs.
- Ensure service requests are reviewed, prioritised and allocated effectively, with engineering resources deployed in line with customer urgency, competence, location and commercial impact.
- Plan, prioritise and execute maintenance contracts, service-level agreements, spare parts support activities and reactive service support while maintaining clear customer communication and internal visibility.
- Monitor departmental performance, including responsiveness, utilisation, on-time delivery, spare parts sales, cost control, quality of site reports and customer satisfaction.
- Resolve escalated technical, commercial and service delivery issues by co-ordinating with Engineering, Sales, Operations, Projects, Quality and other internal stakeholders.
- Maintain high standards of Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental compliance for both office-based and field-based service activities.
- Create, review and improve service procedures, work instructions, technical documentation and reporting standards to support consistent global service delivery.
- Review service risks, recurring issues and customer feedback, driving practical corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support service sales, spare parts growth, installed base development and customer retention by identifying opportunities for maintenance, spares, upgrades, obsolescence mitigation and long-term service support.
- Manage regional spare parts activities including forecasting, recommended stock holdings, critical spares management, inventory optimisation and lifecycle support planning to maximise equipment availability and customer value.
- Work closely with Sales, Engineering, Product Management and Supply Chain teams to develop spare parts packages, maintenance kits, upgrade solutions and lifecycle support strategies aligned to customer operational requirements.
- Support product lifecycle and obsolescence management activities by identifying risks within the installed base and developing practical spare parts, upgrade and replacement strategies.
- Prepare accurate service forecasts, resource plans, spare parts demand forecasts, cost estimates, performance reports and budget inputs to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Identify training needs and capability gaps, ensuring the team has the technical, commercial and customer-facing skills required for current and future service demand.
- Manage effective out-of-hours escalation and on-call arrangements to support the demands of vessels, ports and customers operating globally.
- Research and recommend tools, equipment, systems and process improvements that improve team efficiency, response capability and customer experience.
- Represent the Service function in cross-functional forums and provide appropriate leadership cover during periods of absence or business need.
- Carry out any other reasonable tasks as requested to support departmental, customer and business objectives.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
