We’re one of Europe’s fastest-growing digital manufacturing platforms — trusted by thousands of engineers to deliver parts faster, smarter, and with less hassle!
💼 We’re hiring: Regional Sourcing Manager (UK Market) — based in Manchester
Fractory is changing the way manufacturing works, and we’re building out the Partner Network team that makes it all run on the supply side. We need a Sourcing Manager who can talk engineering with the best of them and negotiate like it’s their second language.
We’re looking for someone who genuinely understands how parts are made, who builds real commercial relationships with manufacturing partners, and who can look at a drawing and instinctively know which partner should run the job. You’ll own manufacturing partner selection, negotiation, and order execution for our UK business — the person every manufacturing partner in the region speaks to, and the person who gets the right job to the right partner.
👉 The UK market is growing fast — strong order flow, great partners, and a clear commercial model. We’re now consolidating how we work with our manufacturing network into one named regional role. If you’ve sat on either side of a manufacturing quote and know where the money and the mistakes really live, this is your role.
👀 What we are looking for…
- Are based in the UK — Manchester-based preferred (our UK hub), and happy to work hybrid with regular visits to manufacturing partners across the UK
- Bring a solid technical grounding in mechanical engineering — you can read a drawing, understand tolerances and materials, and spot when a quote doesn’t match the job
- Have commercial instincts — you’re comfortable negotiating price, lead time, and terms with suppliers, and you know when to push and when to partner
- Love a fast-moving operational role — lots of decisions, real ownership, clear KPIs, not a lot of hand-holding
- Build long-term relationships but hold partners accountable — OTEF, response rate, and quality matter, and you’re willing to have the hard conversations
- Like structure but move fast, think practically, and don’t overanalyse

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

⭐️ Bonus points if you:
- Have worked at a contract manufacturer, fabrication shop, job shop, or metal/engineering service provider — you know the partner-side view
- Know Fractory’s core processes hands-on: laser cutting, bending, CNC machining, welding, surface treatment, assembly
- Have sat in technical sourcing, project management or project engineering in mechanical engineering or industrial manufacturing
- Are familiar with quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100) and supplier auditing
- Have worked in a scale-up, marketplace, or digital manufacturing platform before
🛠 What you’ll do:
You’ll be the single manufacturing partner-facing point of contact for Fractory’s UK manufacturing network — from understanding customer requirements and designing the ideal manufacturing solutions to selecting the right partner for each order, negotiating the quote, and ensuring it’s delivered on time. You’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with our Project Engineers, Account Managers, and Manufacturing Solutions Engineers to make it all happen.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Picking the right manufacturing partner for every managed RFQ — using partner performance data, capability knowledge, and a clear view of current load and capacity
- Running quote-to-order with partners: issuing RFQs, chasing and reviewing quotes, negotiating price and lead time, confirming technical fit, placing and booking orders
- Owning orders from the partner side through to delivery — tracking progress, escalating when late, coordinating with internal teams on quality and packing
- Acting as the manufacturing partner account manager for the UK region: regular check-ins, quarterly reviews, and on-site visits to key partners
- Driving down RFQ fan-out ratio — fewer quote requests per order, higher response rate, better-matched partners
- Negotiating ongoing commercial terms with repeat partners: pricing, lead time commitments, capacity, volume arrangements
- Passing on real-world capability signals to the wider team — what’s missing, what’s underperforming, where we need to expand
- Closing the loop between internal stakeholders and partners so issues become improvement actions
- Keeping internal tools clean and current — Fractory platform, partner records, partner performance dashboards
