YOUR OPPORTUNITY

The Regional Strategy Director is a trusted advisor to the Regional President and the European Leadership Team. It combines the responsibilities of a head of strategy and internal advisor. The role is both highly analytical and execution-oriented, requiring the ability to convert strategic vision into measurable business outcomes across multiple countries and functions. The role leads the development, execution of the regional strategy, identifies growth opportunities, aligns data analytics with commercial goal, and coordinates cross-functional initiatives across European markets. The position combines strategic thinking, financial acumen, operational understanding, and strong stakeholder management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Planning

  • Lead development of the European regional strategy aligned with global priorities/Best10 strategy
  • Facilitate annual and multi-year strategic planning processes.
  • Supports Reg. President & SVP Commercial to translate global priorities into regional action plans and execution roadmaps.

Business Performance

  • Sets the agenda & rigor for performance reviews against strategic objectives.
  • Analyses market trends, competitive landscape, and customer behaviour.
  • Identify performance gaps and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support quarterly business reviews with data-driven insights.
  • Partners with Commercial Growth to evaluate expansion into new countries, segments, or channels.

Strategic Projects

  • Lead high-impact regional initiatives such as:
    • Portfolio optimisation
    • Organizational redesign
    • Sustainability initiatives
    • Operating model improvements
    • Pricing strategy

Executive Support

  • Serve as strategic advisor to the Regional President by:
    • Preparing executive presentations
    • Supporting board meetings
    • Facilitating executive decision-making

Market Intelligence

  • Monitor macroeconomic developments across Europe.
  • Track competitor strategies.
  • Analyse industry trends.
  • Benchmark against leading competitors.
  • Produce regular strategic intelligence reports.

Governance

  • Establish governance for strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain strategic project portfolio.
  • Ensure accountability for execution.
  • Report progress to executive leadership.

Data Analytics

  • Fosters culture where data-driven insights fuel decision making, empowerment and innovation
  • Translates complex data analytics & insights, models into strategic business value for ELT
  • Enables movement & integration of data analytics across functions, connecting strategic ideas to a common business vision

ABOUT YOU

  • Background in strategy consulting and corporate strategy, or senior business leadership.
  • Experience leading cross-country strategic initiatives.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen.
  • Data Analytics domain understanding with ability to structure enterprise business case
  • Experience working across multiple European markets.
  • Experience influencing executive-level stakeholders.

  • Act as a strategic thought partner to the Regional President.
  • Challenge assumptions constructively with data-driven recommendations.
  • Build alignment across diverse European markets.
  • Balance long-term vision with practical execution.

Typical Scope

  • Geographic responsibility: All European markets
  • Role type: Individual Contributor role with influence over cross-functional project teams
  • Budget oversight: Strategy and transformation program budgets; may support evaluation of significant capital investments
  • Travel: Approximately 25–30% across Europe and occasional travel to global headquarters
