Regional Support Manager | Elderly Care Homes | RGN/RMN

Kent & East Sussex

£85,000 - £90,000 per annum + Up to 20% Regional Performance Bonus + Mileage

Compass Associates are exclusively supporting the appointment of a Regional Support Manager for an established care provider, supporting a portfolio of seven care homes across Kent and East Sussex.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Regional Support Manager, Regional Operations Manager, Area Manager, or senior Nurse Home Manager to take on a significant multi-site remit, working closely with Home Managers to maintain high standards of care, strengthen operational performance, and drive continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will provide leadership, guidance, and challenge across the portfolio, working closely with senior leadership to ensure strong quality, operational, and commercial outcomes.

The Role

As Regional Support Manager, you will provide operational leadership and support across seven care homes, including:

  • Providing strong, visible leadership across the regional portfolio.
  • Supporting, coaching, and challenging Home Managers and senior teams.
  • Driving high standards of person-centred care and resident experience.
  • Ensuring robust governance, compliance, and quality assurance.
  • Supporting strong CQC and regulatory standards.
  • Identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective action plans.
  • Supporting recruitment, retention, and workforce development.
  • Monitoring staffing, agency usage, and workforce performance.
  • Supporting occupancy and commercial performance across the homes.
  • Supporting budget management and effective resource allocation.
  • Using operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Supporting homes through periods of change and operational challenge.
  • Building strong relationships with residents, families, and external stakeholders.
  • Sharing best practice and ensuring improvements are embedded across the portfolio.

About You

You will be an experienced and credible Registered Nurse with a strong operational background within adult social care and the ability to effectively support multiple care services.

You will ideally have experience within a regional or multi-site operational role, although experienced Nurse Home Managers with a strong track record of performance and improvement will also be considered.

You will ideally have:

  • Nursing qualification and active NMC registration – essential.
  • Previous experience as a Regional Support Manager, Regional Operations Manager, Area Manager, or equivalent.
  • Alternatively, significant experience as a high-performing Nurse Home Manager or senior operational leader.
  • Experience supporting multiple care homes or complex care services.
  • Strong knowledge of nursing, residential, and/or dementia care.
  • Strong understanding of CQC, governance, and quality assurance.
  • Proven experience developing and supporting Home Managers.
  • A track record of service improvement and implementing effective action plans.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including occupancy and budget management.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and influencing skills.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • The flexibility and willingness to travel regularly across the portfolio.

A nursing qualification and active NMC registration are essential for this position. Candidates without this requirement cannot be considered.

We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate a strong CQC history, previous improvement or turnaround experience, and evidence of successfully developing teams and improving service performance.

The Portfolio

The successful Regional Support Manager will support a portfolio of seven established care homes across Kent and East Sussex. The portfolio includes services across areas such as:

  • Bexhill-on-Sea
  • Eastbourne
  • Tunbridge Wells
  • Canterbury
  • Margate

The role will involve regular travel between the services, with the successful candidate expected to maintain a visible presence across the portfolio and provide support where required.

  • Supporting Home Managers to deliver consistently strong operational performance.
  • Strengthening quality, governance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Identifying and addressing areas of underperformance.
  • Developing confident, capable, and accountable Home Managers.
  • Improving staff engagement, retention, and workforce stability.
  • Supporting occupancy and commercial performance.
  • Sharing best practice across the portfolio.
  • Ensuring improvement plans are delivered and sustainably embedded.
  • Supporting homes through periods of change and operational challenge.
  • Building strong relationships with residents, families, and external stakeholders.

Package

  • £85,000 - £90,000 per annum.
  • Up to 20% annual regional performance bonus.
  • Mileage paid at HMRC standard rate.
  • Full-time permanent position.
  • Significant multi-site responsibility across seven care homes.

Location

The role covers Kent and East Sussex, with services across areas including Bexhill-on-Sea, Eastbourne, Tunbridge Wells, Canterbury, and Margate.

The successful candidate will need to be comfortable with regular travel across the region and have the flexibility to provide operational support to individual services when required.
