This is a permanent, full-time opportunity (Monday to Friday, day hours), offering a salary up to £60,000.00 plus a car allowance, based on skills and experience.

Responsibilities
- Technical & Maintenance Strategy
- Responsible for technical & maintenance strategy implementation for an automation cluster of fulfilment centres, ensuring safe, compliant and cost-effective automation performance supporting business targets.
- Define asset life-cycle strategy and long-term replacement plan, aligned with ROI hurdles.

Strategy & Budgeting
- Support maintenance managers in drawing up budgets for regions and sites, keeping them within +/-3% variance.
- Deliver spend alignment on all inventory and spare parts sites.

Governance & Compliance
- Implement corporate maintenance standards; statutory inspections and ISO-55000 asset-management principles.
- Conduct periodic site audits and close actions within 30 days.

Performance Management
- Define maintenance KPIs (uptime, cost/throughput, energy, safety) and benchmark sites.
- Drive cross-site Kaizen projects to deliver ≥10% YoY downtime reduction.

People & Capability Development
- Set competency frameworks; mentor technical support and develop talent pipelines.
- Oversee certification/accreditation monitoring (patents, certifications required for inquiry).
- Lead crisis response (24/7 on-call escalation tier where necessary).

Vendor & Contract Management
- Collect and validate support service contracts; monitor performance reviews.
- Pilot new technologies (condition-based monitoring, AGV/AMR, pick robots) and scale proven solutions.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Interface with central engineering, IT and data-science teams for automation upgrades.
- Benchmark and implement best practices across clusters.

Stakeholder & Project Management
- Present the technical roadmap to Head of Technical & Maintenance; align with supply-chain, finance, and safety stakeholders.
- Be a key player in managing automation projects (FA/RAT to SAT to operational).
- Establish support contracts and spare parts requirements, and negotiate contract terms.
Profile & Requirements
- Degree in Electrical / Mechanical / Automation Engineering (Robotics a plus).
- +8 years’ experience in automated warehousing or high-volume environments.
- Multi-site leadership experience with budget/ capital project oversight.
- Strong troubleshooting, system support, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Hands-on, analytical mindset with experience in CMMS and BI tools.
- Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma a preferred.
