Job Introduction
We're now looking for an experienced and strategic Regional Technical Manager to take ownership of the built estate across our northern region. This is a senior leadership role responsible for technical assurance, statutory compliance, estate management planning and the delivery of safe, effective infrastructure across a diverse and complex estate. You'll be the regional technical expert, providing guidance to operational teams, clients and stakeholders while leading a highly skilled technical team. - Salary: £49,030.80 - £62,790.00 (DOE)
- Contract: Permanent, Full-time, Mon - Fri
- Location: Wathgill, Richmond, North Yorkshire, DL11 6AH
- Travel: Periodic travel required in the North region; expenses covered

What You'll Be Responsible For
As Regional Technical Manager, you'll act as the regional lead for all technical and built estate matters, ensuring compliance with contractual, statutory and regulatory requirements across the Training Estate.
You'll
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary technical team, including Technical Support Managers, Building Surveyors, Technical Support Administrators and Authorised Persons.
- Take ownership of key estate management plans, including:
- Integrated Estate Management Plans (IEMP)
- Asbestos Management Plans (AMP)
- Legionella Management Plans (LMP)
- Act as the regional technical authority for the built estate, providing expert advice and guidance on maintenance, compliance and project delivery.
- Ensure statutory compliance across the region, including:
- Building Regulations
- CDM Regulations
- Fire Safety
- Equality Act requirements
- Environmental legislation
- Asbestos and Legionella management
- DSEAR management
- Act as the Responsible Person for Legionella and Asbestos management.
- Ensure adequate Authorised Person (AP) coverage across the region.
- Maintain oversight of asset registers, condition data and statutory compliance reporting.
- Review works requests and ensure projects are delivered through the most appropriate route, whether reactive maintenance, lifecycle replacement, core contract activity or additional works.
- Support audits, investigations, training programmes and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build effective relationships with clients, statutory bodies, contractors and wider estate users.

Essential
What We're Looking For
- Level 5 qualification in Built Estate Management, Building Services, Construction, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Level 5 qualification in Business or People Management, or equivalent management experience.
- NEBOSH General of Construction.
- P405 Management of Asbestos in Buildings.
- Legionella Responsible Person qualification.
- Proven experience managing technical teams within a complex estate, facilities management or property environment.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Building services
- Asset management systems
- Statutory compliance
- Health & Safety legislation
- CDM Regulations
- Legionella control
- Asbestos management
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to interpret contractual requirements and provide technical assurance across multiple sites.
- Full UK driving licence.

Desirable
- NEBOSH General Certificate.
- Membership of a relevant professional body such as IWFM, CABE, CIOB, IHEEM or equivalent.
- Knowledge of:
- SFG20
- JSPs
- Listed buildings
- Reservoirs and dams
- Tenanted property management
