Job Purpose

The Regional Territory Sales Manager is responsible for managing and expanding G T Vision Ltd.’s presence in the applied microscopes sector within the Central UK and Wales region. This role involves overseeing territory management, developing new business opportunities, and maintaining strong relationships with clients to achieve the company’s revenue and growth targets. The individual is tasked with ensuring that sales processes, customer engagement, and service delivery meet the company’s standards while collaborating with internal teams to support technical demonstrations, installations, and post-sales services.

Key Responsibilities

Sales and Business Development

  • Develop and execute a territory plan to meet and exceed sales targets within the assigned region.
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities in the applied microscopes market.
  • Promote and sell a range of products, including microscopes, digital cameras, imaging/image analysis software, and third-party equipment.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of G T Vision’s product portfolio and competitor offerings to effectively position the company’s solutions.
  • Follow up on all inbound leads and opportunities generated through marketing efforts and trade shows.

Territory and Account Management

  • Plan and prioritise activities within the assigned territory to maximise client engagement and revenue generation.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and develop long-term partnerships to ensure repeat business.
  • Regularly review client accounts to identify additional opportunities for product upgrades or service contracts.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions and pipeline activity in the company’s CRM system.

Product Demonstrations and Client Training

  • Conduct on-site and showroom demonstrations to showcase the functionality and advantages of applied microscopes.
  • Deliver training sessions to clients post-installation to ensure optimal use of the purchased equipment.
  • Collaborate with the technical and service teams to facilitate seamless installation and post-sales support.

Lead Generation and Pipeline Development

  • Proactively source new leads through research, networking, and industry events.
  • Attend industry conferences, exhibitions, and trade shows to generate new business opportunities.
  • Develop a structured approach to managing leads and progressing opportunities through the sales pipeline.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by responding to enquiries promptly and addressing any concerns effectively.
  • Work closely with the service and support teams to ensure a seamless customer experience throughout the sales and post-sales process.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups with clients to assess satisfaction and identify potential upselling opportunities.

Compliance and Ethical Standards

  • Operate within G T Vision’s Code of Ethics and Conduct, ensuring all activities adhere to company policies and industry regulations.
  • Uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in all client and supplier interactions.

Skills and Competencies

Technical and Sales Expertise

  • Strong understanding of applied microscopy systems and related imaging technologies.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies.
  • Competence in managing the full sales cycle, from lead generation to closing.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Strong relationship management and negotiation skills to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders.

Organisational and Time Management Skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and work independently to meet deadlines.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and a methodical approach to territory management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of sales experience in scientific capital equipment, preferably within the applied or materials science sectors.
  • Demonstrable track record of exceeding sales targets in a technical sales environment.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite.
