About The Role

Training Coordinator - Power T&D

📍 Location: Maxim Park, Scotland (with occasional travel to our Shotts office and other UK locations as required)

Join Our Team

Balfour Beatty Power T&D is looking for a proactive and organised Training Coordinator to support the delivery of training and competence programmes across our growing Power business.

Working closely with the Training Programme Lead, you will play a key role in coordinating training activities, ensuring our workforce has the skills, knowledge, and competence required to safely and effectively deliver critical infrastructure projects throughout the UK.

What you'll be doing

Key Accountabilities

  • To work with the Training Programme Lead to co-ordinate the design and implementation of training plans that manage expiries and competences within area of responsibility
  • To support the Operational areas in all aspects of their training needs, initial review and planning, design and delivery schedule
  • Support and drive a compliant and professional service in line with the Company strategy.
  • Advise operations of any change in training requirements and legislation, ensuring a plan of action is implemented to meet needs
  • Monitor Matrix compliance and forecasting of Budget’s and CITB returns
  • To design training initiatives to provide continual business improvement

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and implement effective training programmes for the Power business – apprentices, trainees, winter training, etc.
  • Support Operational teams to deliver high quality services - Training solutions to the business and identification of potential solutions for Training.
  • Ensure high quality Training is delivered working seamlessly with the Training Delivery team and Operational teams, aligned to business targets.
  • Working with the Lead IQA, ensure legal compliance for the business within a framework of business improvement and a satisfying working environment.
  • To support the Training Administrators by ensuring clarity of all training programmes and the requirements to deliver each element
  • To be aware of leading edge thinking and practice in Training and take support the introduction of new ideas with the Programme Lead/Training Manager/Training Delivery Manager
  • To facilitate and maintain effective communication links with the Operations teams and training centres
  • To always promote a professional image in support of the companies and department values
  • To ensure that you develop your capabilities through continuing professional development
  • To carryout any additional responsibilities from time to time in line with business needs

Who we're looking for

Skills Required

  • Knowledge of the Training environment and awarding body working methodology
  • Competent in use of MS Office – Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Consultation skills and facilitation

Advantage But Not Essential

  • CIPD/CPD accreditation (or equivalent)
  • Operational experience in construction or utilities
  • A good working knowledge and an understanding of current training awarding bodies
  • Knowledge of industry specific Training requirements – EUSR/CAA/City & Guilds/CPCS.
  • Awareness of funding opportunities
