R_358404 – Regional Underwriting Lead UK – Fast Track Team

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Portfolio Solutions Fast Track team at Marsh Risk. This role will be based in London, Norwich, or Birmingham. This is a hybrid role that requires working at least three days a week in the office.

Responsibilities

The Regional Underwriting Lead is responsible for:

  • Leading the Regional Underwriting Team and owning the UK region (including the London Market).
  • Developing regional relationships, identifying opportunities to strengthen and grow the Fast Track proposition, and supporting the successful placement of complex and bespoke business across the region.
  • Working closely with regional placement teams, Account Manager teams, and other internal stakeholders to understand market nuances, identify areas for development in the Fast Track offering, and shepherd large or complex risks through the placement process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure regional growth relative to the available portfolio, as well as the strength of relationships, quality of placement outcomes, and the ability to identify and convert regional opportunities.
  • Take ownership for the UK and London Market region, ensuring local opportunities and market dynamics are understood and acted upon.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with regional placement teams and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Help identify and progress large risks from initial client discussion through to final placement.
  • Identify growth opportunities across the region and help convert them into business results.
  • Work with internal teams to strengthen Fast Track’s regional proposition and competitiveness.
  • Work closely with Account Manager teams to feed in business opportunities and support the right placement strategy.

Requirements

  • Strong underwriting and/or placement experience across regional or international insurance markets.
  • Proven ability to manage relationships with placement teams, brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience handling complex or bespoke risks and supporting successful placement outcomes.
  • Commercially minded and relationship-focused.
  • Strong regional market awareness.
  • Confident and credible with senior stakeholders.
  • Growth-oriented and execution-focused.
