You’ll play a pivotal role in strategic projects, tenders, and major deals that unlock new growth opportunities.
This role also involves managing high-value clients and complex accounts, engaging directly with broker and client leadership at Director and CEO level. If you’re passionate about innovation, high performance, and making a tangible impact across the underwriting landscape, this is your opportunity to lead the way.

- Contribute to setting and delivering the technical underwriting plan, achieving regional GWP and targets aligned with segmentation strategy.
- Shape underwriting philosophy and strategy through collaboration with leadership, ensuring branch activity aligns with strategic priorities.
- Use MI analysis to identify opportunities to reduce referrals and support targeted training initiatives.
- Lead technical decision-making for tenders and deals to meet operating ratio and profitability objectives.
- Set and monitor underwriting standards, enhance technical capability, and oversee training, empowerment, and quality controls across the region.
- Support audit and governance processes, driving continuous improvement through action plans and risk management.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
