About the Team

The Appian UK Financial Services Sales team is a high-energy, results-driven group dedicated to accelerating our market share in AI-Powered Process Automation. We partner with Tier-1 retail banks, investment banks, asset management firms, and capital markets institutions to modernize legacy systems, streamline regulatory compliance, and automate mission-critical workflows. Our team culture thrives on strategic execution, accurate forecasting, and establishing Appian as the gold standard for Enterprise-Grade Orchestration.

The Opportunity

As the Regional Vice President for UK Banking and Financial Services, you will own the vision, strategy, and quota execution across a primary growth engine for Appian. Reporting directly to the Area Vice President, you will lead a team of high-performing Enterprise Account Executives targeting retail banking, investment banking, asset management, and broader financial markets. This role offers high visibility to drive multi-million-pound transformations, cultivate C-suite relationships, and position Appian as the automation backbone for modern financial enterprises.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead all strategic sales activities across the UK Banking and Financial Services sector, consistently meeting and exceeding quarterly and annual revenue targets.
  • Coach and empower Enterprise Account Executives through complex sales cycles using structured methodologies such as MEDDPICC, Value Selling, and Challenger Sales.
  • Drive territory decisioning, quota assignment, account segmentation, and pipeline management across retail banking, investment banking, capital markets, and asset management.
  • Engage directly in C-level discussions with executive buyers, risk officers, and technology leaders to position Appian’s value in core financial operations.
  • Collaborate with strategic consultancy partners, including Big 4 firms, to expand ecosystem reach, co-sell enterprise solutions, and accelerate customer time-to-value.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Professional Services, Marketing, Business Development, and Finance to ensure seamless customer onboarding, retention, and lifecycle expansion.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of quota-carrying enterprise SaaS Sales experience selling into major financial institutions, retail banks, investment banks, or asset management firms.
  • Demonstrated track record of building, mentoring, and leading high-performing sales teams through periods of hyper-growth and organizational change.
  • Mastery of enterprise sales frameworks including MEDDPICC, Value Selling, and Challenger Sales.
  • Executive capabilities in territory planning, commercial negotiations, pricing models, and pipeline forecasting.
  • Broad consultancy network with a proven history of co-selling alongside Big 4 advisories and global systems integrators.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep domain knowledge in UK financial regulations, KYC/AML compliance, risk management, and banking operational transformation.
  • Experience with enterprise platforms such as Salesforce or ServiceNow.

The base salary range per provided represents a good faith and reasonable estimate of the range at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant work experience, qualifications, internal peer equity, and market and business conditions that exist when extending an offer. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a commission plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
