Interested in taking the next step in your merchandising career at M&S? We’re inviting expressions of interest for future Assistant & Junior Merchandiser opportunities across our Fashion, Home & Beauty teams.

What you’ll do

You’ll play a key role in supporting commercial range planning, forecasting, stock management and trade performance. You’ll work closely with Buying, Design, Allocation, International, Retail and Sourcing teams to help deliver the right product, in the right place, at the right time.

  • Support sales, stock, markdown and availability forecasting across departments, ranges and channels, helping to deliver the right product in the right place at the right time.
  • Analyse trade performance, customer response, competitor activity and market trends to identify risks, opportunities and actions that maximise sales and availability.
  • Partner with Buying, Allocation, Space Planning, Retail, International and Sourcing teams on range planning, launch quantities, in-season trading and store execution.
  • Help manage the critical path from buy through to delivery, maintaining accurate planning information and supporting consistent ways of working across teams.

Who you are

You’ll bring merchandising experience, strong numerical confidence and the ability to turn insight into action. You’ll be commercially curious, organised and proactive, with the ability to build trusted relationships across a wide range of teams.

  • With experience across Fashion, Home or Beauty, you’ll understand the importance of accurate planning, strong stock control and reacting quickly to what our customers are telling us.
  • Strong merchandising experience, including department planning, sales estimates, stock management, commitment control and GSM knowledge.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with the confidence to interpret data, make recommendations and influence commercial decisions.
  • Good understanding of the end-to-end buy-to-store process, merchandising systems and standard business applications.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building and leadership potential, with the ability to work collaboratively and step up when needed.
