Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Since opening our first home in 2007, Homes2Inspire, part of Shaw Trust, has grown to become the UK's largest charity-owned provider of residential children's homes. Today, we operate more than 60 homes, supported accommodation services, and high-needs foster care provision, with ambitious plans for further growth in 2026.

Homes2Inspire, in partnership with Derby City Council, is seeking a dedicated, resilient, and ambitious Registered Children's Home Manager to lead a brand-new two-bed children's home in Chaddesden, Derby (DE21).

This is a unique opportunity to establish and shape a new service from the outset, creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where children and young people can thrive. We are looking for a leader who can confidently navigate complex situations, inspire a team, and maintain a clear focus on achieving positive long-term outcomes for children and young people.

About The Home

Located in Chaddesden, Derby, this new two-bed children's home will support children and young people with complex needs who require a safe, consistent, and nurturing environment.

Working in partnership with Derby City Council, the home will provide high-quality residential care focused on stability, therapeutic support, and improved outcomes for young people.

As Registered Manager, you will have the opportunity to build the culture, recruit and develop your team, and establish a service that reflects Homes2Inspire's commitment to exceptional care and safeguarding.

About Homes2Inspire

Homes2Inspire is proud to be part of the Shaw Trust Group and the UK's largest charity-owned provider of residential children's homes.

Key Responsibilities

As Registered Home Manager, you will:

  • Lead and manage a specialist residential service supporting two young people with complex needs.
  • Ensure outstanding standards of care, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and inspire a resilient, high-performing team that embodies Homes2Inspire values.
  • Promote therapeutic, trauma-informed practice throughout the service.
  • Work collaboratively across a supportive cluster of homes, sharing expertise and best practice.
  • Build positive relationships with Derby City Council, external agencies, commissioners, and stakeholders.
  • Monitor quality, outcomes, and service performance to drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead on recruitment, development, supervision, and performance management of staff.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and occupancy effectively.
  • Create a nurturing environment where children and young people can flourish.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
