An excellent opportunity has arisen for a staff nurse RGN to join our highly skilled primary care team at HMP Manchester.

We are looking for a highly motivated and compassionate nurse who has an interest in providing equitable care to individuals detained in prison.

You will contribute to evidence-based patient care and be an integral part of the MDT and wider prison multi-agency team. You will have strong communication skills and the ability to make structured professional decisions.

The role requires strong emotional resilience, self-awareness, and continuous reflective practice. You will be supported by your peers and managers.

You must have been a UK resident for 3 years to be eligible to apply for this post due to prison vetting requirements.

The role is subject to prison vetting (Counter Terrorism Clearance), which is a condition of employment and must be kept up to date for the duration of your employment.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
