Registered Manager – Lead & Grow an Award-Winning Homecare Service
GoodOaks Homecare Bedford
Salary: £38,000 – £43,000 per annum + performance-related bonus
GoodOaks Homecare Bedford is looking for an experienced and ambitious Registered Manager to lead our established homecare service and help us through the next stage of our growth.
We have built a strong reputation in Bedford for delivering high-quality, personalised care and are proud to be part of the award-winning GoodOaks Homecare network.
This isn't a turnaround role. You'll be joining an established service with an experienced team, a strong local reputation and an engaged Director who wants to invest in the continued growth of the business.
We are passionate about enabling people to remain safely and happily in the homes they love, providing outstanding visiting care and live-in care that is genuinely person-centred.
For the right Registered Manager, this is an opportunity to take real ownership of a successful service, develop your team and play a significant role in shaping where the business goes next.
What will you do?
As Registered Manager, you'll take responsibility for the quality and operational leadership of the service while working closely with the Director to develop and grow the business.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Taking accountability for the safe and effective running of the service and maintaining CQC compliance
- Acting as the CQC Registered Manager for the service
- Leading, supporting and developing the care and office teams
- Maintaining and continually improving our high standards of person-centred care
- Undertaking client consultations, care assessments, care planning and onboarding new clients
- Ensuring care plans and risk assessments remain accurate, effective and up to date
- Managing feedback, concerns and complaints positively and using them to continually improve the service
- Supporting effective recruitment, induction, supervision and development of team members
- Building strong relationships with clients, families, professionals and other local stakeholders
- Developing relationships and networks across Bedford and the surrounding area
- Working alongside the Director to identify opportunities to grow both our visiting care and live-in care services
- Helping us build on the strong reputation we have already established locally

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why join GoodOaks Bedford?
This is an opportunity to join a business that has already built a strong reputation but still has significant potential for further growth.
You'll work closely with an engaged and supportive Director, rather than being left to manage the service in isolation. You'll have genuine input into how we develop the business, our team and the services we provide.
What do we offer?
- £38,000 – £43,000 salary, depending on experience and qualifications
- Performance-related annual bonus with clear and realistic targets
- Additional payment for participating in the on-call rota
- Regular salary and performance reviews
- Reimbursement of your Enhanced DBS check fee
- Training, development and ongoing support
- Support from an experienced and proactive GoodOaks franchise support team
- Employment perks and benefits, including volunteer days
- The opportunity to play a key role in the continued growth of an established local care service
- A supportive, positive and proactive working culture
- The backing of the UK's only carbon-neutral care franchise, with a strong focus on quality of care
Most importantly, you'll be joining a business where the Registered Manager is viewed as a key member of the leadership team, with the opportunity to make a genuine impact.
If you're an experienced care professional looking for more than simply managing the day-to-day operation of a branch, we'd love to hear from you.
