Job description:
We have a fantastic opportunity at PSS Care Group for someone to join us in the position of Registered Manager for our brand-new Therapeutic SEMH home in Felixstowe, Suffolk.
The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, with a 1 in 10 days on-call rota system and additional pay for on-call shifts at a set amount.
As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and day-to-day management of the home. This includes ensuring robust and effective systems are in place to monitor all aspects of the service, from safeguarding to quality of care, financial performance, incidents, complaints, and regulatory compliance.
You will lead by example, creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where young people can thrive. A key part of your role will be supporting and developing your team, ensuring that all staff deliver consistent, high-quality care and build meaningful, positive relationships with young people.
We’re looking for someone who is passionate, driven, and resilient, with strong leadership skills and a genuine commitment to putting children at the center of everything they do. You will be motivated to make a real difference, supporting young people to build independence, confidence, and the skills they need to achieve their ambitions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
