Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Care (LD / EBD)

£60,000 – £75,000 | North West | 6‑Bedded Home

A newly opened children’s residential service is seeking an experienced and resilient Registered Manager to lead a flagship 6‑bedded home supporting children with Learning Disabilities (LD) and/or Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

The home was registered in the summer and currently supports one child, placed for the past eight months. A full staff team is already in place, and we are now seeking a strong, values‑driven leader to take the service forward following the departure of the current manager. This is a complex service where children typically receive high packages of support (2:1+), requiring a manager with deep sector expertise, strong regulatory understanding and a proven track record of delivering safe, stable and nurturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the home in line with its Statement of Purpose, ensuring outstanding outcomes for children.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day operations, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding and regulatory compliance.
  • Embed a robust safeguarding culture and ensure all practices meet Ofsted and Children’s Homes Regulations.
  • Provide inspirational leadership, cultivating a positive, child‑centred team culture.
  • Deliver regular supervision, appraisals and training to support staff development and professional growth.
  • Build strong, meaningful relationships with children, staff and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare the home for its first full Ofsted inspection, ensuring readiness across all areas.
  • Drive continuous improvement, turning challenges into opportunities and modelling resilience and professionalism.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
