REGISTERED MANAGER – OAK TREE LODGE

Near Wisbech

£60,000 Basic Salary + Up to £5,000 Joining Bonus + Up to £5,000 Ofsted Rating Bonus + £300 Monthly On-Call Allowance

Solo Children’s Home | GOOD Ofsted Rating | Small Staff Team

FED UP WITH WALKING INTO HOMES THAT NEED FIXING?

This one doesn’t.

Oak Tree Lodge is an established solo children’s home with a GOOD Ofsted rating, supporting just one young person with a small, dedicated staff team.

We’re looking for an experienced Registered Manager who wants to take charge of a strong service, maintain high standards and focus on what residential childcare should actually be about — leading a great team and achieving excellent outcomes for one young person.

No huge staff team. No multi-bed home. No walking into a service that needs rebuilding from scratch.

Just one home, one young person, a small team and a very attractive package.

THE PACKAGE

  • £60,000 basic salary
  • Up to £5,000 joining bonus
  • Up to £5,000 Ofsted rating bonus
  • £300 per month on-call allowance

That gives you a potential first-year package of up to £73,600!

You'll also receive the backing of an experienced senior management team who understand children's residential care and will give you the support and autonomy to run your home properly.

ABOUT OAK TREE LODGE

Oak Tree Lodge is a solo children’s residential home, meaning the entire service is focused on the needs and development of one young person.

Our most recent Ofsted inspection rated the home GOOD, and our aim is simple: maintain those standards and continue developing the home into an outstanding service.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Because this is a solo provision, you’ll work with a small staff team, allowing you to genuinely know your team, understand the young person and remain close to the day-to-day quality of care.

For the right Registered Manager, this is an opportunity to run a focused, well-supported home without many of the headaches that come with managing a large multi-bed service.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

As Registered Manager, you'll have overall responsibility for Oak Tree Lodge and will:

  • Lead, motivate and develop a small residential care team
  • Maintain and build upon our GOOD Ofsted rating
  • Ensure consistently high standards of safeguarding and care
  • Oversee care planning, risk management and positive outcomes
  • Maintain compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
  • Build strong relationships with the young person's family, professionals and placing authority
  • Ensure the home is always inspection-ready
  • Create a positive, stable and genuinely homely environment
  • Work closely with senior management while having the autonomy to lead your service

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We want someone who knows children's residential care and doesn't need their hand held.

You'll ideally already be an experienced Registered Manager who wants a role where you can concentrate on running a great home rather than constantly firefighting.

We would also consider a high-calibre Deputy Manager with substantial experience who is genuinely ready to step into Registered Management.
