Are you an experienced and passionate Registered Manager looking for the opportunity to lead a small, high-quality children's home?

We are recruiting for a dedicated Registered Manager to lead a 2-bed EBD children's home in Wallasey, Wirral. This is a pivotal leadership role for someone committed to delivering safe, nurturing, therapeutic and child-centred care for children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring outstanding care, strong safeguarding practice, regulatory compliance and positive outcomes for every child. Working closely with the Responsible Individual, you will create a stable, reflective and ambitious environment where children feel safe, listened to and supported to thrive.

The Role

As Registered Manager, you will:

  • Lead, motivate and develop a residential care team, including Deputy Managers, Senior Support Workers and Residential Support Workers.
  • Ensure the home operates in line with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, Ofsted requirements and the home's Statement of Purpose.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, risk management, care planning and behaviour support.
  • Ensure children's views, wishes, identity and rights are central to all care and decision-making.
  • Oversee admissions, placement matching, transitions and endings to ensure the home can safely meet each child's needs.
  • Drive positive outcomes across education, health, relationships, independence, wellbeing and preparation for adulthood.
  • Maintain robust oversight of incidents, missing-from-care episodes, complaints, restraints, safeguarding concerns and regulatory notifications.
  • Complete and respond to Regulation 44 monitoring, and lead high-quality Regulation 45 reviews and improvement planning.
  • Ensure safe staffing levels, effective rotas, safer recruitment, supervision, appraisals, training and workforce development.
  • Build positive working relationships with social workers, placing authorities, families, education providers, health professionals and other external agencies.
  • Manage the home's budget, resources, premises and health and safety arrangements effectively.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
