ABBI Clinic is a specialist eating disorder provider offering bespoke, clinically led day care and outpatient treatment, designed to fit around real life and support early intervention. With established clinics in Altrincham and Preston, alongside a comprehensive virtual program, the clinic combines high-level clinical expertise with a warm, approachable, and local experience.
Founded and led by Dr. Sonu Sharma, Consultant Psychiatrist, and Dr. Jaya Verma, Specialist Eating Disorder GP, ABBI Clinic is focused on delivering the highest possible standard of care. The team supports individuals and families living with a wide range of eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, ARFID, orthorexia, diabulimia, and OSFED.

Role Description
The Registered Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of ABBI Clinic’s services in Preston, ensuring high-quality, person-centered care that meets regulatory standards and clinical governance requirements.

This full-time/part-time, on-site role includes:

- Overseeing staff performance
- Coordinating rotas
- Supporting clinical teams
- Monitoring service delivery to ensure adherence to Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations and internal policies
The role involves:
- Managing referrals and admissions pathways
- Maintaining accurate records
- Overseeing safeguarding and risk management processes
- Supporting audits and quality improvement initiatives
The Registered Manager will liaise with external stakeholders, including commissioners and partner organizations, contribute to service development and evaluation, and ensure that families and individuals receive responsive, respectful, and timely support.
The role also requires active leadership in embedding ABBI Clinic’s values, promoting a positive working culture, and nurturing a safe therapeutic environment.
Qualifications
- Relevant professional registration (e.g., with an appropriate UK health or social care regulatory body) and eligibility to hold the Registered Manager position under CQC requirements.
- Experience in managing or leading clinical or care services, ideally within mental health, eating disorders, or related healthcare settings.
- Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding procedures, clinical governance, and risk management in healthcare environments.
- Demonstrated ability in team leadership, staff supervision, performance management, and fostering a collaborative, supportive workplace culture.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time-management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple services, schedules, and priorities.
- Clear, compassionate communication skills, including the ability to work constructively with patients, families, clinical teams, and external partners.
- Competence in maintaining accurate records, using clinical and administrative systems, and supporting data collection for audits and quality improvement.
