Registered Manager – Nursing Home
Curaa is looking for an experienced Registered Manager to lead our 31-bed dementia nursing home, a well-established service on this site for over 35 years and rated Good by the CQC and Good on PAMMS.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who combines genuine compassion for residents with the commercial discipline to run a well-led, financially healthy service — holding overall responsibility for the day-to-day and strategic running of the home, from CQC compliance and quality assurance to occupancy, budget and team leadership. You’ll be the home’s registered accountable person with CQC, and its most visible ambassador with residents, families, staff and the local community.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the home in line with our values of Respect, Integrity, Learning and Community, promoting dignity, independence, choice and wellbeing for every resident
- Own the home’s commercial performance, including occupancy, correct fee income, staffing efficiency and agency spend
- Maintain full compliance with CQC requirements, the Health and Social Care Act, safeguarding duties, MCA/DoLS, health and safety and GDPR
- Lead quality assurance, audits, risk management and continuous improvement to keep the home inspection-ready
- Recruit, retain, supervise and develop a competent, compassionate and accountable care team
- Act as an ambassador for Curaa with residents, families, staff, professionals, commissioners and the local community
- Prepare for and lead CQC inspections, local authority reviews and other regulatory or governance visits
- Oversee enquiries, show rounds, admissions and occupancy growth, building strong relationships with referrers and commissioners

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
