We are seeking experienced Registered Managers for Children's Residential Homes for several opportunities across the South East of England.

Current locations include:

  • Greenwich, London
  • Basingstoke, Hampshire
  • Woking, Surrey – opportunity relating to two children's homes located approximately 5–10 minutes apart

We are particularly interested in experienced children's residential care managers who are capable of leading a service through registration and subsequently managing the home operationally.

Key responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Provide effective leadership and management of a children's residential home.
  • Promote consistently high standards of safeguarding and child-centred practice.
  • Lead and develop the staff team.
  • Maintain effective oversight of care planning, risk management and safeguarding.
  • Ensure the service operates in accordance with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and associated Quality Standards.
  • Maintain strong governance, monitoring and quality-assurance arrangements.
  • Work effectively with children, families, social workers, local authorities and other professionals.
  • Support the home's Ofsted registration process where applicable and demonstrate the knowledge and experience required for the Registered Manager role.
  • Maintain an inspection-ready service focused on positive experiences and outcomes for children.

Candidate profile

We are particularly interested in candidates who have:

  • Significant management experience within children's residential care.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and children's-home regulations.
  • Experience leading and developing residential childcare teams.
  • The ability to demonstrate suitability for a Registered Manager position.
  • Relevant residential childcare leadership/management qualifications or are working towards the appropriate qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted expectations and inspection requirements.
  • Previous experience as an Ofsted-registered Children's Home Manager would be highly desirable.
